Fundraising FAQs

Is my donation tax deductible?

YES! Mooneyham PTA is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so it receives no financial support from the public school system.

Do you accept matches from my company?

Absolutely! Check with your HR department for matching capabilities.

How much of your donation goes to the PTA?

100%. Mooneyham PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all of our Board members are volunteers. Our PTA and Mooneyham Elementary/Frisco ISD are separate entities; neither supports the other financially.

How can children get involved?

Have your child write a letter to grandparents, other family members or neighbors asking them to support Mooneyham PTA by participating in the events and buy membership as community members.

I would like a say in how the PTA uses their budget?

Join PTA and attend our membership meetings. Once the PTA board makes recommendations regarding disbursements of funds, members are encouraged to have a say as to how the funds are allocated. While anyone can attend our meetings, only members can vote on financial matters.

I joined PTA for $10. What is this $10 used for?

$5.50 of your dues goes to Mooneyham PTA. $2.25 is sent to Texas PTA, and $2.25 is sent to National PTA. The money sent to Texas & National PTA supports resources for local PTAs and schools, leadership training, and Advocacy for our children. PTA is active in advocating for all our children at the local, state and national levels, impacting decisions affecting your child’s health, safety and quality of education.

During the past 125 years, PTA’s national advocacy efforts have helped establish universal kindergarten, the National School Lunch Program, the juvenile justice system, and anti-child labor laws.
