School is in full swing and so are the PTA Activities!  Here are some highlights:

• We had a great turnout at Spring Creek for Spirit Night!  Thanks to all who participated.  
• The deadline to order House Shirts is September 1st!
• Our Watch D.O.G.S. Kick-Off and Ice Cream Night is 9/7.
• We're also planning the first Snack Cart of the year on 9/22.  (See below for link to sign-up!)
• There are 2 PTA Board Positions open.
• The deadline to submit entries for the Mooneyham PTA Reflections Art Contest is 10/20.

Campus Safety is an FISD Priority

Campus doorbells, student ID cards and armed police officers are part of the District’s evolving security plan.

Frisco ISD is taking significant steps to enhance campus safety, including implementing a campus doorbell program, piloting a student ID program and identifying methods to best comply with House Bill 3.

Current plan: Frisco ISD will continue to have police officers at all high schools and middle schools. In addition, the District employs School Resource Officer roversto cover elementary schools inFrisco, Plano, Little Elm and McKinney.

• Frisco PD currently has the largest municipal SRO program in the state.

• The District will explore hiring more SROs and looks forward to guidance from TEA regarding the bill.

Of note: The law allows a school board to claim a good cause exception and identify an alternative standard if lack of funding or availability of personnel makes complying with House Bill 3 impossible. 

Fast forward: Trustees will receive an update each month with the District’s continued progress on complying with House Bill 3.

2. Complete the Volunteer Interest Form. It’s not a commitment, but simply lets us know your area of interest. 

3. All volunteers must complete the FISD-required background check in VOLY .   

4. Sign Up! Once the background check is completed, you can use VOLY to sign up for volunteer opportunities.
